摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which suppresses the scale of an electric discharge generated between substrates, which can prevent an electron emitter or a fluorescent screen from being damaged and deteriorated and a circuit from being damaged, and which improves reliability. SOLUTION: A first substrate 10 in which the fluorescent screen is formed, and a second substrate 12 in which a plurality of electron discharge sources 18 are provided, are disposed oppositely. A support substrate 24 with a plurality of electron beam passing holes 26 formed therein is provided between the first and second substrates. A plurality of spacers are stood on one surface 24a of the support substrate. The support substrate has the first surface 24a contacted with the first substrate, the second surface 24b opposed at a gap to the second substrate, and the plurality of electron beam passing holes 26 opposed to the electron discharge source.
