PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operating arm and a hand cart equipped therewith capable of transmitting the pushing force efficiently to the hand cart, operating in an attitude with ease, and easy to grasp the operation part without being influenced by the service environment. SOLUTION: The operating arm 4 is installed upright on one or more sides of the hand cart 1 fitted with casters 2 and 3 and furnished with columns 41a and 41b to support the operation part 40, wherein the operation part 40 is formed in a column having an approximately n-polygonal section shape such that one of the n-sides of the n-polygon faces up while the vertex as diagonal to the up-facing side faces down, and if the up-facing side is designated as the first side while the other (n-1) sides to form the n-polygon from the front of the operating arm 4 to the rear with the first side used as reference are designated in sequence as the second side, third side, fourth side, ..., (n-1)'th side, the second side, the third side, and the fourth side are positioned in the front of the n-polygon, while the (n-1)'th side and the n'th side are positioned in the rear of the n-polygon.
