PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a high frequency signal generator capable of efficiently generating high frequency signals with a simple configuration by solving problems such as saturation of an optical detector due to an unnecessary optical spectrum. SOLUTION: The signal generator comprises a coherent white light source for outputting coherent white light with center frequency of ν0 , a vertical mode interval f0 [Hz], an optical filter for inputting coherent white light and two line spectra with frequencies (ν0 +n1 f0 ) [Hz] and (ν0 +n2 f0 ) [Hz] (n1 and n2 are integers and n1 >n2 ) out of a plurality of line spectra aligned with a vertical interval f0 , an optical multiplexer for multiplexing two line spectra outputted from the optical filter, and the optical detector for inputting the outputted light from the optical multiplexer and for converting it to high frequency electrical signals being a frequency difference (n1 -n2 ) between the two line spectra to output it. |
