An apparatus for measuring medical parameters of a patient by means of transmission or reflection of electromagnetic, particularly optical waves, uses sinusoidal functions for demodulation in a multiplier (47,48). If at least two emitted waves are used, the modulation signals for the two waves are advantageously 90 DEG shifted in phase with respect to each other.
