<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable pulley device of simple structure capable of preventing leakage of lubricant outside and intrusion of dust from outside in a movable part of a fixed pulley half body and a movable pulley half body of a variable pulley. <P>SOLUTION: This variable pulley device is structured of the fixed pulley half body A<SB>1</SB>provided with a fixed pulley face 3 in an axial end of a fixed pulley shaft 1 provided with a guide pin 2 installed in the peripheral surface thereof, the movable pulley half body A<SB>2</SB>provided with a movable pulley face 7 in an axial end of a movable pulley shaft 5 formed with a circumferential recessed part 5a in the inner peripheral surface of the shaft end, an outer cylinder 9 for covering the peripheral surface of the movable pulley shaft 5, and an oil seal 12.
