PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a normally closed solenoid valve capable of finely controlling the pressure adjustment in an initial stage when the solenoid valve is opened. SOLUTION: The normally closed solenoid valve 10 comprises a fixed core 20, a coil 12 to excite at least the fixed core 20 when energized, a movable core 28 which is arranged opposite to the fixed core 20, and brought close to the fixed core 20 side by the electromagnetic attractive force by energizing the coil 12, a retainer 24 which is pressed by the movable core 28 by bringing the movable core 28 to the fixed core 20 side, a valve seat 40 having a communication hole 40c to communicate a working fluid flow passage, and a valve element 30 which is advanced/retracted together with the retainer 24, and abutted on the valve seat 40 to close the communication hole 40c.
