PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wrong counting caused by operation of mode change-over or the like in a pedometer. SOLUTION: This pedometer has a constitution wherein wrong counting is prevented by suspending a step-counting function at the operation time of mode change-over or the like, and the suspended step-counting function is recovered by determining operation finish of mode change-over or the like or based on change-over to the state having no possibility of the wrong counting. As for suspension of the step-counting function, in the pedometer having a plurality of operation modes for operating in the state where the step-counting function is operated, the step-counting function is suspended at the mode change-over time between the operation modes in the state where the step-counting function is operated.
