PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roller chain capable of preventing galling between a connection pin and a bush to reduce wear and suppressing elongation of the chain to improve durability. SOLUTION: This roller chain is constituted by connecting a plurality of units formed by a pair of inner plates, the bush fixed to either of the pair of inner plates and provided with a pin hole, a pair of outer plates arranged on both outer sides of the inner plate, and the connection pin fixed to either of the pair of outer plates and inserted rotatably into the pin hole of the bush. The connection pin is provided with a hard carbide layer on a surface of a base material, and a DLC layer is provided on a surface of the hard carbide layer.
