PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member for nonferrous molten metal which has excellent erosion resistance, thermal shock resistance or the like, and in which the part to be exposed to high temperature other than the part to be contacted with molten metal has excellent oxidation resistance. SOLUTION: This member is used in a state of being contacted with nonferrous molten metal, and is characterized in that an alloy layer composed of a high speed steel-based alloy is formed at least on a part of the inner surface to be contacted with nonferrous molten metal in a base material composed of a metallic material, and also, a coating layer having excellent oxidation resistance is formed on the outer surface of the base material by plating or thermal spraying. The high speed steel-based alloy has the chemical components of, by mass, 1.0 to 4.0% C, 0.1 to 2.0% Si, 0.1 to 2.0% Mn,≤4.5% Ni,≤10.0% Cr, 0.1 to 9.0% Mo,≤10.0% W and 1.0 to 15.0% V, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
