<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a real time control system capable of effectively using resources as a whole of a system for reducing product costs from development to the end of production. <P>SOLUTION: In this real time control system, a host computer 10 and a plurality of device controllers controlling field devices DA are connected for controlling the field devices DS in real time. The host computer 10 divides the control contents to the device controllers into functions operable in a fixed time and transfers them. On the basis of the functions transferred from the host computer 10, the device controllers 100 control the field devices DS in real time. Each of the device controllers 100 is dividedly constructed of a standard part 110 consisting of shared components and an extension part 150 having a different configuration according to the field device to be connected.
