PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of restraining nucleic acids from being repulsed electrostatically to be adsorbed with high density, when immobilizing a nucleic acid probe on a surface of a solid phase carrier. SOLUTION: This nucleic acid immobilizing method for immobilizing the nucleic acid on the solid phase carrier includes a process for preparing a solution containing a probe molecule containing the nucleic acid, a spacer molecule, at least one kind of bivalent cation or a salt thereof; and a process for bringing the solution into contact with the solid phase carrier to be incubated.
