PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a poor sealing, avoid a looseness at a threaded portion and stabilize a thread forming size by improving a sealing function (sealing). SOLUTION: This method is carried out for applying a capping pressure to a top plate of a metallic pilfer-proof cap covering on a mouth of a container, rotating a thread forming roll around the cap to form a female thread extending along a male thread of the container opening at the circumferential surface of the cap, once removing the thread forming roll from the cap and again re-forming the female thread formed by pressing the same thread forming roll against the circumferential surface of the cap. When the thread forming roll is once removed from the cap after the thread is formed at the circumferential surface of the cap, the top plate of the cap is kept under its depressed state and the cap pressing pressure at the top plate of the cap is maintained at a value more than the first cap pressing pressure of the top plate of the cap at the top plate of the cap.
