PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving force control method of a 4-wheel drive vehicle capable of exactly controlling the driving force distribution ratio between the right and left rear wheels. SOLUTION: The driving force control method of the 4-wheel drive vehicle having front wheels as main driving wheels always connected to a driving source, rear wheels as driven wheels capable of adjusting the amount of drive torque, and a mechanism that can adjust the torque distribution to the rear wheels to be larger than that of the front wheels in turning and adjust the torque distribution to the right and left rear wheels comprises a step of detecting vehicle speed and a step of gently reducing the torque distribution to the rear wheels outside the turning in response to the increase of vehicle speed. Furthermore, when the shift position is the low-speed stage, the high-speed stage, or reverse, the torque distribution to the rear wheels outside the turning is decreased.
