PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective cover for a water line sluice valve capable of coping with the shape of different water line gate valves for every bore of a water pipe and every manufacturer and preventing the inflow of underground water or the like, and furthermore facilitating inspection at night. SOLUTION: A rubber cover 300 fitted to the inner peripheral surface 41 of a concrete box 40 is mounted to the outer peripheral surface upper part of the protective cover 200 made of synthetic resin and inserted in the concrete box 40, and the upper end of the protective cover 200 is provided with an openable/closable lid 400. A soft member 500 brought into close contact with the water line sluice valve 50 to hold the inside of a cylinder in a sealed state is interposed at the inner peripheral surface lower part of the protective cover 200.
