PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) pellet for producing a molded product having excellent color, hydrolytic resistance and transparency in excellent molding stability, and containing a reduced amount of foreign matters. SOLUTION: The pellet comprising the PBT containing titanium in an amount of≤90 wt.ppm expressed in terms of a titanium atom, and having≤0.5μeq/g concentration of a terminal methoxycarbonyl group has 0.90-2.00 dl/g average intrinsic viscosity and≤0.10 dl/g difference of the intrinsic viscosities at the center part and the surface layer part of the pellet. In a preferable embodiment, the concentration of the terminal carboxy group of the PBT is 10-25μeq/g, the concentration of a terminal vinyl group is 0.5-10μeq/g, and the solution haze is≤5%. With the proviso that the solution haze is the value of the turbidity of the solution obtained by dissolving 2.7 g PBT in 20 ml phenol/tetrachloroethane mixed liquid (weight ratio is 3/2).
