<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wasteful download of contents unusable on client equipment in the case of executing download of the contents from server equipment to the client equipment. <P>SOLUTION: The client equipment instructs the download of the contents to the server equipment (a step S1) and starts the download (a step S2). Before the download of the contents is completed, for example, when the download of only the predetermined content data of N bite is completed (YES in a step S3), the client equipment executes reproduction of the downloaded contents (a step S4). When the contents can be reproduced (YES in a step S5), the download is continued (a step S6) and completed (a step S7).
