PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding material capable of easily, efficiently and stably binding mutual vertical-horizontal bar materials, for example, when constructing a bamboo fence. SOLUTION: A pair of belt-like binding pieces 6 are formed by arranging an engaging body 5 on one end of a flexible belt-like piece 3, and are connected by its crossing part 9 by putting both belt-like pieces 3 and 3 in a crossing state. The belt-like pieces 3 are bent in a loop shape, and the belt-like pieces 3 are inserted into an engaging hole 15 of the engaging body 5, and a second engaging part arranged in the engaging hole 15 engages with a first engaging part arranged in the belt-like pieces 3, to fix the length of a loop-like part of the belt-like pieces 3.
