<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus, a password management server, a control method therefor and a program that can save trouble of managing a password besides an image file and increase the confidentiality of the image file. <P>SOLUTION: Upon a request for a password from another machine, that is, an image server, whether the address of the password requesting image server is in a range of network addresses authorized in advance is checked (Step S31 to S32). If it is in the authorized range, a correct password is sent to the requester, that is, the image server (Step S33) and the control is returned to Step S31. If the requesting machine is outside the range of network addresses authorized in advance, on the other hand, an incorrect password is sent to the requester, that is, the image server (Step S34) and the control is returned to Step S31.
