PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a branched chain-like polyene compound which gives an unsaturated ethylenic copolymer rubber having excellent weather resistance, heat resistance and ozone resistance and having a large vulcanization rate, when copolymerized with anα-olefin such as ethylene or propylene to produce an unsaturated ethylenic copolymer, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This branched chain-like polyene compound represented by general formula (I) [(f) is an integer of 1 to 5; R1, R2and R3are each independently H or a 1 to 5C alkyl, provided that R1, R2and R3are simultaneously not H].
