PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the rigidity of a cylinder block while reducing a friction due to the rotation of a crankshaft in the cylinder block structure of an engine. SOLUTION: This cylinder block structure of the engine comprises the cylinder block 11 of the engine having a plurality of cylinders, bearing cap 15 supporting the crankshaft 3 together with the cylinder block 11, a beam 16 supporting the bearing cap 15, cap bolts 18 fixing the bearing cap 15 and the beam 16 to the cylinder block 11, beam bolts 17 tightening the beam 16 to the skirt part 12 of the cylinder block, a buffle part 16b installed on the crankshaft 16 and formed by swelling in a shape along he rotating route 9 of the crankshaft 3, and a vertical wall part 16d vertically connecting the bearing cap 15 to the buffle part 16b.
