COMPOSITION HAVING HYPOTENSIVE ACTIVITY OBTAINED FROM BARLEY SHOCHU DISTILLATION LIQUID RESIDUES

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition having significant hypotensive activity using barley Shochu (white distilled liquor) distillation liquid residues as a byproduct from Shochu production process using barley as feedstock.

SOLUTION: This composition having the significant hypotensive activity comprises a desorption fraction that is obtained by the following process: Barley Shochu distillation liquid residues as a byproduct from Shochu production process using barley as the feedstock are subjected to solid/liquid separation to obtain a liquid fraction, which is then subjected to adsorption treatment using a synthetic adsorbent to obtain a synthetic adsorbent adsorption fraction, which, in turn, is eluted with an alkali or ethanol.
