<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly supply a liquid reducing agent after start of an engine, even if the liquid reducing agent is frozen. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust emission control device for an engine, comprises: a reduction catalyst disposed to an engine exhaust passage to reduce and clean nitrogen oxide by using urea aqueous solution; a main tank 10 storing the urea aqueous solution ; a sub tank having a capacity smaller than that of the main tank 10 and storing the urea aqueous solution supplied from the main tank 10; a reducing agent supply device supplying the urea aqueous solution which is stored in the sub tank 11 to the reducing agent catalyst; a heat exchanger 13 heating the liquid reducing agent stored in the main tank 10; and an electric heater 15 heating the urea aqueous solution which is stored in the sub tank 11. Even if the urea aqueous solution is frozen, the urea aqueous solution in the sub tank 11 is immediately unfrozen by the electric heater 15 and thereby the urea aqueous solution is quickly supplied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
