PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low noise diaphragm type air pump suppressing drop of air quantity by cooling a permanent magnet and an electromagnet during operation. SOLUTION: In this diaphragm pump, an electromagnetic reciprocating drive device having two electromagnetic coils 5, 5 arranged in a yoke 6 having a roughly E-shaped longitudinal section shape in a plane including a shaft 1 to generate same poles in opposite direction, and having a needle 4 including a permanent magnet 3 magnetized in an axial direction and a needle magnetized piece 2 adjoining the same provided reciprocatably in an axial direction is used as a drive source and air is delivered by a valve case 12 including an intake valve 10 and a delivery valve 11 and a diaphragm 8 fixed by a diaphragm case 13.
