摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress lowering in oxygen permeability caused by the deviance in the composition of an oxygen ion conductor phase (GDC) and to further reduce the formation of a heterophase when GDC/MFO is manufactured by a process comprising firing Gd-doped CeO<SB>2</SB>together with Co<SB>3</SB>O<SB>4</SB>and Fe<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>in a temperature range wherein coarsening of crystal grains does not occur. <P>SOLUTION: A composite type mixed conductor contains an oxygen ion conductor phase constituted of Gd-doped cerium oxide expressed by compositional formula: Ce<SB>1-X</SB>Gd<SB>x</SB>O<SB>2-X/2</SB>(wherein, 0<X<1) and an electron conductor phase constituted of a spinel type Fe multiple oxide expressed by compositional formula: MFe<SB>y</SB>O<SB>4-&delta;</SB>(wherein, M is one or more kinds selected from Mn, Co and Ni; and y<2), which phases are bonded to each other by firing.
