MANUFACTURING METHOD OF FIBER-REINFORCING SUBSTRATE AND OF COMPOSITE MATERIAL USING THE SUBSTRATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a fiber-reinforcing substrate by which a composite material superior in a surface quality or a quality stability of dynamic characteristics can be obtained in a high productivity and a manufacturing method of a composite material in which the fiber-reinforcing substrate is impregnated by a matrix resin. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a carbon fiber-reinforcing substrate is passed through at least steps of (A) to (C) as follows. (A) A drawing step for drawing the reinforcing fiber thread with an original thread width Wo, (B) a spreading step for spreading a thread width to a spread width Ws with a width of >100% and <500% of the original thread width Wo, (C) a narrowing step for narrowing the thread width to≤97% of the spread width Ws and also to an objective targeted width Wt being 100-300 % of the original thread width Wo.
