PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid heater capable of reducing a difference between heating temperatures in combustion states in individual fuels, capable of enhancing combustion efficiency, and capable of prolonging a life of a grate. SOLUTION: This liquid heater is arranged with a combustion part 3 arranged with the grate 10 for mounting the individual fuel such as a firewood 20 to be burnt, and a heat exchanging part 11 for heating a liquid 8 such as water by combustion of the firewood 20. The grate 10 is formed into a hollow tubular shape to pass the liquid 8 in its inside, so as to constitute the heat exchanging part 11. The heat exchanging part 11 comprising the grate 10 is heated by a heat source comprising the combustion of the firewood 20 mounted on the grate 10 or a live charcoal 21 mounted thereon to heat the liquid 8 passing the inside.
