A toner comprises toner particles comprising at least a binder resin, a colorant, and a sulfur-containing resin, in which the toner particles comprise the sulfur-containing resin so as to satisfy a relation of; 0.50<=I<SUB>S</SUB>/T<SUB>S</SUB><=0.95 WHERE T<SUB>S </SUB>denotes a content of sulfur in the toner particles, and I<SUB>S </SUB>denotes a content of sulfur in isopropyl alcohol insoluble components of the toner particles, whereby it is possible to obtain a high quality image having an excellent developing resistance regardless of the surrounding conditions and a uniform charge amount distribution regardless of processing speed.
