FIELD: electrical engineering; robotics, stomatology, and microsurgery. ^ SUBSTANCE: proposed method used to detect angular position of multiphase motor rotor irrespective of its speed of rotation and length of path covered includes supply of first ac signal of definite frequency to input of at least one stator winding and pick-off of measurement signal across output of this winding followed by processing of measurement signal by electronic means involving retrieval of information about periodic changes in effective flux density of stator winding. This change is a function of rotor angular position. Such alternate changes across stator winding make it possible to obtain three periodic curves controlling zigzag-shaped curve enabling precise detection of rotor angular position.
