PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator enabling an increase in service life when a Stirling refrigerator is mounted therein. SOLUTION: When a temperature in a refrigerating chamber 80 is equal to or less than a temperature set by a user, a control box 30 receives a signal indicating it from a sensor 81 in refrigerating chamber 80, closes a damper 64, lowers an output from the Stirling refrigerator 40, and stops a motor driving a cooling fan 59. In this case, a cold chamber 50 can receive the cold heat of a refrigerant circulating in a loop pipe 62 through a plate-like member 69 and a resin member 63. Accordingly, the Stirling refrigerator 40 can be operated even if the cooling of the refrigerating chamber 80 is stopped, and the cooling of the cold chamber 50 is continued.
