<p>The present direction is directed to a method and a kit for the isolation of nucleic acid from a sample containing cells or complex biological material, said method, comprising the steps (i) mixing said sample with a suspension comprising a buffer and a solid support, said suspension having a pH value below pH 5.0 characterized in that said buffer causes lysis of said cells or said biological matrial contained in said sample, further characterized in that subsequent to lysis, the nucleic acid is bound to said solid support, (ii) washing the generated nucleic acid/solid support complex with an appropriate washing solution, and (iii) eluting the nucleic acid from said solid support with an appropriate elution solution.</p> |
