<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that two upper and lower liquid crystal panels can not efficiently be lightened by one light source and a light guide member. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal device having a liquid crystal panel, the light guide member lightening the liquid crystal panel, and the light source arranged by the light guide member is composed of a light scatter type liquid crystal panel wherein a light guide member has 1st and 2nd opposite surfaces as light projection surfaces and a light projection region can be controlled by an electric means. Further, a main liquid crystal panel and a subordinate liquid crystal panel are arranged opposite the 1st and 2nd surfaces of the light guide member, and a light scatter region of the light guide member is controlled to be nearly the size of a display region of the main liquid crystal panel when the main liquid crystal panel is driven and nearly the size of a display region of the subordinate liquid crystal panel when the subordinate liquid crystal panel is driven. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
