The assembly has a control device that activates an electromagnetic switching valve to connect hydraulic chambers (60, 61) of lower and higher gear clutches to respective oil storages (62) via corresponding switching valves when mode of operation is changed from low speed to high speed and vice-versa. The device controls the transmission rate of a toroidal gear based on the pressure in the chambers during the mode change.
