<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substance for ameliorating intrauterine growth retardation, which has no risk of causing adverse effects. <P>SOLUTION: The substance essentially comprising Manda Koso (R) as a fermented plant composition, obtained by fermenting a raw material containing fruits, root vegetables, cereals and seaweed, is used as the substance for ameliorating intrauterine growth retardation.
