PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color temperature converter performing color temperature conversion based on the luminance level of a pixel and the number of pixels having an identical luminance level. SOLUTION: A luminance acquisition circuit 101 acquires luminance data (Yi) of a pixel. A luminance group creating circuit 103 outputs luminance group data (Yq) based on the luminance data (Yi). A number of pixel acquisition circuit 105 counts the luminance group data (Yq). A number of pixel group creating circuit 107 outputs number of pixel group data based on each count. A color temperature conversion level determining section 109 determines a color temperature conversion level (Tk) based on the luminance group data (Yq) and the number of pixel group data. A color temperature converter 108 performs color temperature conversion for image data based on the color temperature conversion level (Tk) received from the color temperature conversion level determining section 109 and outputs conversion results to an LCD panel 10.
