<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode for a nonaqueous electrolyte battery which can simplify a manufacturing process by enabling the cathode to be manufactured in atmospheric environment, by restraining lithium/iron complex sulfide from reacting with moisture in atmosphere, even if the lithium/iron complex sulfide is used as a cathode activator, and provide a battery using the cathode. <P>SOLUTION: The cathode activator contains lithium/iron complex sulfide 11 having a composition expressed by a formula Li<SB>2</SB>FeS<SB>2</SB>prior to initial charging, and the surface of the lithium/iron complex sulfide 11 is covered by ethyl cellulose 12. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
