THERMAL RECORDING ELEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording element having a sufficient coloring density and causing neither sticking nor adhesion of head dregs.

SOLUTION: The thermal recording element utilizes the color reaction of a colorless or light-colored electron donating dye precursor and an electron accepting developer. A spindle/agglomerate-shaped calcium carbonate and a minute silica of which the average particle diameter is 0.5-4.5 μm and the oil absorption based on JIS K5101 is 80 ml/100 g or more are contained in a thermal recording layer.
