<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a ceramic honeycomb filter which prevents a filter from increasing a pressure loss by narrowing a flow path caused by a residue formed by leaking filler slurry at a flow path end part essentially requiring no filling in a high porosity ceramic honeycomb filter having a structure filling a desired flow path end part. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for obtaining the ceramic honeycomb filter comprising the steps of covering a part of the flow path with a mask at the end face of a ceramic honeycomb structure having a large number of flow paths, immersing the end face on which the mask of the ceramic honeycomb structure is formed in the filler slurry, introducing the filler slurry into the flow path without being covered with the mask, thereafter drying the slurry, then burning the filler and filling the desired flow path end part, the method for manufacturing the ceramic honeycomb filter is characterized by removing the residue at least in one flow path. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
