PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a remote control apparatus wherein mis-discrimination hardly takes place in the case of remotely controlling electronic equipment by a combination of a plurality of actions even when a remote controller is not at hand or the remote controller is missing. SOLUTION: An image extraction section 13 captures a user's action pattern on the basis of pulses at a prescribed time interval produced by a rhythm generation section 11 for generating the pulses at a prescribed time interval at a preset speed. An operation sequence discrimination section 22 discriminates whether or not a detected sequence of a valid action is coincident with a preset operating sequence. When the valid operating sequence is discriminated, an electronic apparatus interface 26 outputs control data to control electronic equipment 27 being an object of remote control on the basis of the discriminated sequence and controls the electronic equipment 27.
