PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for assuring the consistency of data between a plurality of storages and between sites when data transfer is carried out by asynchronous remote copying from a site comprising the plurality of storages. SOLUTION: When writing is made to either a first storage device or a second storage device, one storage device to which the writing is made transfers written data to the other storage device in a site by synchronous remote copying. At that time, the first storage device adds information for sequence assuring to the written data. Further, the first or second storage device transfers the written data and the information for sequence assuring thus added to a third or fourth storage device by asynchronous remote copying. In addition, the third or fourth storage device which receives the written data transfers the written data and the information for sequence assuring to the remaining storage device in the same site by synchronous remote copying.
