<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid polymer fuel cell restrained from deterioration of a sealing member sealing the space between an electrolyte film and a separator, and excellent in durability. <P>SOLUTION: The solid polymer fuel cell 1 has an electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly (MEA) composed of an ion conductive electrolyte membrane 2, a pair of electrodes 3, 4 arranged on both sides of the electrolyte membrane 2, and separators 5 interposing and supporting the electrolyte membrane-electrode assembly at both sides thereof.
