<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antireflection film which is excellent in an antireflection effect and decreases the generation of colors. <P>SOLUTION: The antireflection film has at least one antireflection layer on a transparent supporting body, the antireflection layer is formed with a plurality of regions arranged on the transparent supporting body, each of the plurality of regions has an optical film thickness which is uniform but different from that of adjacent regions, and the average optical film thickness nd over the whole antireflection film consisting of the plurality of regions satisfies the relation 1 given below: (Relation 1) λ/4×0.95<nd<λ/4×1.05, where n and d represent the average refractive index and the average film thickness of the antireflection film, respectively, and nd stands for the average optical film thickness of the antireflection layer. λ represents a wavelength of visible light which is in the range of 450 nm to 650 nm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
