The drive system for utility vehicles has a first drive shaft (2) and a second drive shaft (3), to which the cylinder drum (86) of a hydrostatic piston machine is fastened. The piston stroke can be adjusted and the drive shafts can be connected by a clutch, both the adjusting system and the clutch being hydraulically operated and connected to a common control inlet (11). An independent claim is included for a similar drive system in which the piston machine swivels through a minimal angle into its neutral position and the adjusting system and the clutch being hydraulically operated and connected to a common operating line.
