PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable lever tumbler lock which dispenses with formation of a protruding portion on an outer cylinder, and facilitates changing a mode of key setting. SOLUTION: According to the structure of the variable lever tumbler lock, each lever tumbler is a combination of a tumbler A1A and a tumbler B1B which are formed almost like the C and superposed on each other, and a spindle 2 is supported so as to be rotatable about an axial line of eccentric shafts protruding from both edges thereof. Then an engaging protrusion 9 is formed on a free-end side inner edge of the tumbler A1A, on a side opposed to the tumbler B1B, and a plurality of engaging recesses 11 engageable with the engaging protrusion 9 of the tumbler A1A, are formed in an inner edge of the tumbler B1B. When a key setting mode is changed, the spindle 2 is depressed, and the engagement between the engaging protrusion 9 and the engaging recesses 11 is canceled. Herein a changing protrusion 32 of an adapter 25 mounted on the outer cylinder is inserted into the outer cylinder 16, and the spindle 2 is depressed via a spacer ring 15.
