The wire frame used as a base for the padding and cover material of a vehicle seat is assembled of a multitude of longitudinally (4) and transversally positioned wires (2) joined by welding at their intersections (5) and their outer ends. The transversally positioned wire guided along the front of the seat area (6) and the upper wire at the backrest (1) are provided with several inwards pointing curves (7) where the outer ends of the longitudinally positioned wires (4) are to be joined. A welding bead is inserted as a filler into the recess (8) formed at each of the points (7).
