A liquid crystal display device according to an embodiment of the present invention a liquid crystal panel unit having a liquid crystal panel; and a support member supporting the liquid crystal panel unit from a back side of the liquid crystal panel unit. A center axis of a viewing angle in the liquid crystal panel unit is not parallel to a normal line of a surface of the liquid crystal panel. The support member is provided with an opening portion transmitting light from the back side thereof toward the liquid crystal panel unit.
