PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an allergic disease treating agent applicable even to patients sensitive to external irritations, slight in irritancy and good in feeling in use. SOLUTION: This allergic disease treating agent comprises, as active ingredient, a galactosaminoglycan containing 20-100 mol% of 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-3-O-(4-deoxy-α-L-threo-hexy-pyranosyluronic acid)-4,6-bis-O-sulfo-D-galactose units or a pharmacologically acceptable salt of the galactosaminoglycan.
