PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent lithium secondary battery wherein safety such as short-circuit resistance and heat resistance is compatible with electrical characteristics.

SOLUTION: In this lithium secondary battery having a group of electrodes formed by laminating or winding a positive electrode 1 and a negative electrode 5, a heat resistant insulating layer 3 composed of a filler and a binding agent is formed on a porous layer 4 as an object to electrically insulating the positive electrode from the negative electrode, and the porous layer is integrated with the positive electrode or the negative electrode.
