<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple method for manufacturing a proton conductive film which is made of a polyarylene having a sulfonic acid group, has a high proton conductivity, is inexpensive compared with a perfluoroalkylsulfonic acid based film, and is excellent in mechanical strength and thermal stability, without involving a complicated multi-step process. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the proton conductive film of this invention, to manufacture the proton conductive film containing a polyarylene having a sulfonic acid group, a film is formed by using a varnish composition containing the polyarylene and a sulfonic acid group introducing agent, and then the film thus obtained is heated to introduce the sulfonic acid group into the polyarylene. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
