<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headlamp in which a low beam light distribution pattern most suitable for low speed driving of an automobile and a high speed high beam light distribution pattern most suitable for high speed driving of the automobile can be certainly obtained. <P>SOLUTION: A fixed shade 30 is provided so that a fixed edge 33 may be positioned at a second focus F2 of a reflecting surface 11, and a movable shade 40 is provided at the vicinity of it. When the low beam is irradiated, the movable shade 40 is positioned at a first position and a cut-off line of the irradiation light is formed by a movable edge 43. When the high speed high beam is irradiated, all portions of the movable shade 40 is positioned at the second position so that they may be below the fixed edge 33 and the cut off-line line of the irradiation light is formed by the fixed edge 33. As a result, the low beam light distribution pattern most suitable for low speed driving of the automobile and the high speed light distribution pattern most suitable for high speed driving of the automobile can be certainly obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
