PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide deceleration feeling in accurate response to the request of the driver of a vehicle. SOLUTION: An ECT_ECU performs a program including a step for calculating the ratio value of a time in which a brake is turned ON within a predetermined specified time, a step for setting a brake frequency large history ON flag when the ratio value of the time is larger than a predetermined threshold, a step (S110) for detecting a vehicle speed when an accelerator return speed when an accelerator is returned is larger than a predetermined threshold value (YES in S100), a step (S120) for determining whether or not the detected vehicle speed is within a vehicle speed area for which the brake frequency large history ON flag is set, and a step (S130) for holding a present shift stage when the vehicle speed when the accelerator is returned is in the vehicle speed area for which the brake frequency large history ON flag is set.
